Robert Hulsey January 22, 1923 - December 21, 2010

Robert Sterling Hulsey, age 87 of Oklahoma City, had a smile on his face when he went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 21, 2010. He was born on January 22, 1923 in Duncan, Oklahoma to John P and Lucille (Roberts) Hulsey. Robert served his country during WWII in the United States Marines. He was a draftsman at Roberson Steel Company for 40 years. He married Lois Crisler on May 20, 1950. Robert was wholly committed to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a dedicated husband, dad and grandpa full of love for his family. He was strong and quiet with a great sense of humor and faced whatever life brought with faith and perseverance. He had a love for poetry and music, especially Barbershop. He was an artist best known for his "whittling" which produced many beautiful wood carvings and many that showed his whimsical side which he shared with his family and friends. Robert and Lois were charter members of Village Christian Church. He is survived by his wife Lois who he affectionately called Critter, 3 daughters, Marilyn (AKA Chunk) and husband Jim Marusa, Joanie (AKA Joan David) and husband John Hildenbrand, Donna (AKA PJ Pickle) and husband Curtis Symes; 5 grandchildren, Eric Marusa (Abby), Christopher Symes (Ashley), Cara Symes, Chase Hildenbrand (Abby), and David Hildenbrand; 2 Great-grandchildren, Wiley and Emilia Marusa and other family loved ones. Special Thanks to Bo for the loving care you provided our dad and to the staff at Bradford Village. Visitation will be at Buchanan Funeral Service on Monday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm with the family present from 3:00 – 7:00. Private family burial Tuesday, December 28 at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Edmond, OK with a 3:30 pm Memorial Service at Village Christian Church, 9401 Ridgeview Dr, The Village (Britton Rd and Ridgeview Dr.) with a time of fellowship to follow. Dad, we already miss you but rejoice that you are hearing all the beautiful music in Heaven and are now able to leap like a deer (Isaiah 35:5-6).
