Shirley Ann Ryland passed away peacefully from Cancer on May 12, 2024 surrounded by her loving family, at St. Ann’s Skilled Nursing Facility in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Shirley was born on September 5, 1935 to Maxine (Sharpe) and Eugene Woolf in Chickasha Oklahoma. Shirley was preceded in death by both her parents, and a brother James.

Shirley is survived by her husband John, sons Dan and Terry Stephens both of Kingston Oklahoma, stepchildren Lynda Reese and Greg Ryland of the Oklahoma City area, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren who will miss her very much.

Shirley grew up in and around Oklahoma City and attended Central High School, before her careers at Presto Welding Supply, United States Post Office, and finally retiring from the FAA in the Aviation Careers division.

Shirley and John met while working at the Post Office and were married on October 21, 1971 and enjoyed many adventures and activities during their life together. Shirley was active with Eastern Star, which she was a member of for over 50 years and enjoyed her travels to all 50 states and Australia on two occasions as a representative.

There will be a visitation time with the family on May 17, 2024 from 4-8pm at Buchanan Funeral Service

    To John Ryland and all our Oklahoma Family, We offer up our Prayers to our Loving and ever-present God for peace and comfort for each of you at this time of your loss of Shirley in your life on this earth. We have heard it said that whether were rich or poor or somewhere in between. We are all homeless and working our way back home! Shirley received the answer to her innermost and sincere Prayer to go home and is now at peace with her loved ones!
