Date of Funeral

March 29, 2023

Memorial Service: 2:00PM, Wednesday, March 29th, 2023 at Buchanan Funeral Service Chapel

Sue Ann Mouser’s arrival into the world in Maud, Oklahoma, was celebrated by her dear mother on the 7th of June, a special date which was also the birthdate of Sue’s maternal grandmother. Sue departed from “Soonerland” March 22, 2023.

Sue was raised in Shawnee, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Shawnee High School. She attended The University of Oklahoma and later graduated from Neff’s Business College in Shawnee. She subsequently entered the workforce where she enjoyed a 22-year career with Mack Trucks. After taking some time off and exploring her next professional opportunities, she then dedicated nine years of service to the Retirement Inn at Quail Ridge. Following a few years of temporary employment with several firms, Sue retired to devote more time to her golf game.

Sue was a very proud American. She loved her country, her flag and her home state of Oklahoma. Being Sooner born and Sooner bred, she was an avid fan of all athletic teams representing The University of Oklahoma. She was a long-time member of The Sooner Club and the The Touchdown Club of Oklahoma, and she traveled the country to support her beloved Sooners. She also enjoyed music, theatre, spectator sports and playing golf with her friends in the Lake Hefner Ladies 9-Hole group, which included Sylvia Flemming, Patsy Murdoch, Elaine Murray, Polly Johnson and deceased members Connie Gray and Marilyn Richards.

Sue was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Vera F. (Tootsie) Hodge Mouser, to whom she said a temporary goodbye on October 1, 1981. They were best friends, as well as mother and daughter, and they shared many wonderful times together. She was also predeceased by a very special couple, Aunt Lois Hodge Greggs and Uncle Eddie L. Greggs. Her “Auntie” was her OU football buddy and Uncle Pappa was her partner in crime on the golf course. Sue’s passing was also preceded by the death of her “brother” cousin, Eddie D. Greggs.

Sue is survived by a very, very special “sister” cousin, Barbara Ann (Bobbie) Greggs Humphreys Cawood and husband Marvin, as well as Bobbie’s children: John Humphreys and wife Anita, Kim Brown and husband Greg, Jim Humphreys and wife Deena, and Jay Humphreys and wife Sherri; John and Anita Humphreys’ children Scott Humphreys and wife Ashley, Christopher Humphreys and wife Kelsey, and David Humphreys and wife Samantha; Jay and Sherri Humphreys’ children Morgan and Taylor Humphreys; Scott and Ashley Humphreys’ children Evie, Lily, Jet and Jack Humphreys; and Christopher and Kelsey Humphreys’ child Chloe Humphreys. She is also survived by the children of “brother” cousin, Eddie D. Greggs: Shari Edwards and husband Adrian, Cory Greggs, and Tracy Greggs and wife Erika; Shari and Adrian Edwards’ children Stephen Edwards and wife Melody, and Megan Roberts and husband Matt; and Cory Greggs’ children Casey Greggs, and Perry Greggs and wife Lesley. She is also survived by her cousin, Pamela Taylor Ayres.

The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the servant-hearted people at Legend at Council Road and Valir Hospice, especially our very special angel of mercy, Casey Robinson, for the compassionate care given to Sue.

Sue’s life will be celebrated at the Buchanan Funeral Service chapel in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Wednesday, March 29, at 2:00pm. You may honor Sue by wearing OU apparel or other red clothing to the service. Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City. A period of family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Those who wish to remember Sue in a special way may make gifts to the American Heart Association, Oklahoma City Chapter, in memory and honor of Sue’s mother, Vera F. Hodge Mouser.
