Wanda Sells Land, age 86, died peacefully on June 8, 2016 at her home in Oklahoma City after a long struggle with heart disease. Wanda was born November 7, 1929 in Meadow, Texas. The daughter of Mike and Fleta Sells of Granite, Oklahoma. Wanda graduated High School in Reed Oklahoma and on March 14, 1953, Wanda married the love of her life, Richard E. Land. They were happily married for 63 years.
Wanda worked in the Office Products industry for two decades as a business manager before taking early retirement in 1993. Wanda thoroughly enjoyed life and loved being surrounded by family and friends and most recently served the community devoting her time through the Northwest Church of Christ card ministry program. Wanda encouraged family to serve Christ and others through ministry in the mission fields.
Wanda is survived by her husband Richard E. Land; their five children; Gary Land, Debbie Capps, Terry Land, Teresa Haynes and Curtis Land; her one sister, Edna Mae Anderson of Snyder, Texas, her husband Jim Anderson, their daughters Jamie and Carla Wanda had twenty-two grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.
Wanda was a life member of the Churches of Christ spending the past 47 years at Northwest Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, where Wanda spent a number of years serving as the Church secretary.
There will be a public service open to family and friends at Northwest Church of Christ in Oklahoma City at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday June 11, 2016.
