Winifred Warr passed away on May 23, 2014. She was 83 years old. She was born August 21, 1930 in Oklahoma City to Veslie William and Mamie Meyer.
Winnie graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City and was a member of the Central High Red Skirts Drill Team. She worked for AT&T as a switch board operator and in book keeping until she began raising her family. She spent the rest of her life taking care of her family, helping friends and serving her church. She loved being outside in the sun doing almost anything, which included taking care of the lawn, gardening, feeding the birds, ducks, rabbits and any other animal that showed up on her back porch. She especially loved her pet cats and seemed to always have one in her lap.
She was a servant of her church, Church of the Servant. Every Friday, for almost 40 years, she volunteered and did something on behalf of the church.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul Warr, daughter Karen Warr, son Douglas Warr, sister Marjorie Heiman, granddaughter Lauren Warr, brother-in-law, Max Warr and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donations in her memory may be made to Free to Live Animal Sanctuary, P.O. Box 5884, Edmond, OK. 73083-5884 or on their website.
