Alfred “Al” Vernon Meyer, devoted father and grandfather, passed away peacefully January 9, 2021 at the age of 76. He was born January 15, 1945 to Ameda and Vernon Meyer in Oklahoma City, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Edward. Alfred is survived by his daughter Christine White and her husband Kevin, son Ryan Meyer, and Granddaughter Avery, who we are pretty sure was number one in his eyes.
Al graduated from Northeast High School in 1963, proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and was a Vietnam Veteran. Al received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1973. Throughout his career, he held various positions in sales and the airline industry.
Al loved spending time with his family and bragging about his favorite grandchild Avery. His biggest hobby and passion was his love for his Corvette’s and RV’s. He loved getting both out on the open road and traveling where the winding road took him. Al was also a member of the Central Oklahoma Corvette Club and American Legion. He loved OU football, Thunder basketball, watching Seinfeld, Chick Fil A, Taco Bell, actually any fast food and an occasional glass of wine…or two. We will cherish our memories of our dads amazing sense of humor, laugh, and smile.
There will be a graveside service at Memorial Park cemetery Thursday, January 13th, 11am.
