Geraldine Willsey August 7, 1917 - March 31, 2015

Geraldine Willsey was born to Robert H. Wilson & Grace Taylor Wilson on August 7, 1917 in Rocky, OK. She attended 1st grade in the Rocky School, where her mother & father attended. They moved to Cordell, OK in 1924, where she finished High School in 1936. She loved music & for 4 years made Glee Club and Mixed Chorus. She made the Girls quartet her sophomore, junior & senior years. She formed a trio with her sister, Jeanelle and Nell Dean, later with Marjorie Flatt. Geraldine attended Kiowa Jr. College in Hobart & formed another trio there with her sister & Marjorie Benich. She sang on WKY Oklahoma City on the Johnny Marvin Show with both groups. She married Wm. Leroy Willsey on August 2, 1945, after he had been a POW of the Germans for 14 months. In 1977 she attended Warr Acres Senior Center & became a teacher of oil painting over 26 years, becoming Woman of the Year in 1991& was commended by the Oklahoma State Senate for her volunteer work. She was a teacher of four year olds at Putnam City Church of Christ for 18 years where she was a member. She is survived by daughter, Karen Mugleston, son. Robert (Bob) Willsey and wife Karen M.; 5 grandchildren, Chris, Scott and Jennifer White, David and Cara (Justin) Brown; 6 great grandchildren, Bodie, Hannah, Callie, Charlee, Jonah & Liam. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, her son-in-law Ron Mugleston, her parents and a sister. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to In Search of The Lord's Way or Warr Acres Senior Center. Visitation will be Thursday, April 2, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm with funeral service at 10:00 am on Friday, April 3rd at Cherokee Hills Church of Christ
