Lloyd Raymond Lawson was born July 28th, 1967, to Bobby and Pat Lawson. From the beginning Lloyd and his big brother Jeff loved playing together. Exploring creeks, burning ants with magnifying glasses, walking to Whataburger or their Mondays during the summer spent at Putt Putt. Lloyd went through the Putnam City school system at Windsor Hills, Mayfield and PC West. Lloyd met his best friend, Shawn Gunter, in 3rd grade and James Snellings also at Windsor Hills and the three have been best friends since.

After high school, Lloyd went to work at the family’s business and began to take on more and more office duties including bookkeeping. It was during the bookkeeping duties he met and fell in love with his future wife, Dawn. Lloyd and Dawn had two amazing children, Denisa and Robert. By this time Shawn had retired from the Marine Corps and once again the 3 of them got back to doing best friend stuff. You know, like setting fields on fire, shooting guns, acting crazy and even blowing stuff up. (Shh do not tell anyone about the last part). Robert grew up around “Uncle Shawn” and James and listened to all of Shawn’s stories about the Marines. Robert at age 8 announced he was going to be a marine. Flash forward to today and Robert is serving in the Corps and excelling being promoted to Sargent in his time so far.

During the time at the shop, Lloyd and Bob, his Dad, became incredible at wedding set ups. Lloyd once quipped that he and dad had set up thousands of candelabra. They would make short work of it and would only complain a little while getting the wedding ready. He had an incredible sense of humor. One time while setting up a wedding at Church of the Servant, before all of its expansion. You had to walk a ways to get in the church. As they began unloading and carrying in the equipment it began to sprinkle. No big deal it had sprinkled before. After the first trip they headed out to get more equipment and the heavens opened up and it became an Oklahoma MONSOON. Lloyd and dad were dripping and the rain was so hard there was not a dry spot on them. Lloyd said “Wow it’s raining, I hope they (the wedding party) had bought their rings at B.C Clarks”. BC Clarks has a promotion if it rains more than an inch you get your wedding rings for free. It rained over 2 inches of rain in 15 minutes.

With Lloyds health problems he moved in with Bob and Pat. He began helping take over the day-to-day operations of the house like paying bills, cooking, cleaning and even taking them to doctor appointments. He even one late night saved Pat’s life when she had a heart attack by performing CPR on her until the ambulance arrived.

He passed away on Valentines day which he might have planned. All florists hate that day due to all the headaches, problems and things that can go wrong. It would be like him to give Valentines day his final middle finger as he left this world.

Lloyd is survived by his children, Denisa and Robert; his mother Pat and brother Jeff. His many friends and extended family members loved when he was around and know the world is a little darker without his light in it. He finally gets to go hang out with some of his favorite artists, Stevie ray Vaughn, Dusty Hill and Toby Keith. He is asking Toby for a red solo cup and sitting in on the greatest jam of all time.

Rest in peace Lloyd, your light may be gone but your memory will live on in your family and your friends.
