Michael Kenneth Lafferty, born in Brownwood, TX on February 2, 1948 to Ken and Jewel Lafferty, passed away on August 18th. Mike worked at Southwestern Bell for 27 years ending his career as a System Manager. While at Southwestern Bell he met his future wife Diann Lafferty and together they raised two sons. He had the opportunity to travel all over the country, and he loved learning about the history of the places he’d visit. His travel blended with his many hobbies such as music, poetry, fishing, wood, and metalworking. He was proud of his Irish heritage and was able to travel to Ireland with his sister and brother-in-law.
While the last years of his life were filled with many medical hardships that could easily have broken his spirit, those that met him would tell you of his sense of humor and his ability to find the good in any situation. The people he met walked away with a smile on their face. This is what those around him will miss the most.
He is survived by his two sons, Todd Moss and Chad Lafferty, and his sister Jan Osborn and brother-in-law Dave Osborn. He will be remembered by his six grandchildren Bret and Audrey Moss, Tyler and Madison Hartman, and Sebastian and Coen Lafferty. He will also be loved and missed by his many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
